Chin invasion in the Zomi territory May 21, 2024

Myanmar in recent months has witnessed drastic shifts in political dynamics amonst multiple stakeholders. The battles between SAC and resistance forces are fast turning into turf wars for control of economic lifelines and commercial interests amongst stakeholders in a multi-stakeholder setting.

In what may be described as an unprecedented move, the Chin National Front’s armed wing, the Chin National Army (CNA), along with 14 of its cohorts launched offensive on their fellow Zo kindred Zomi inhabited areas of Tonzang and Cikha.

The campaign to unleash terror and violence includes members from the following groups:

1. Chin National Army (CNA)
2. Mizo Chin Rifle
3. Chin Defence Forces (CDF – KKG)
4. Chin Defence Force (CDF Tonzang)
5. Vakok PDF (People’s Defence Force)
6. Chin Defence Force (CDF Thantlang)
7. Civic Defence Militia- Siyin (CDM Siyin)
8. PDF Zoland (According from CBCUSA)
9. Chin Defence Force CDF Hualgnoram
10. Yaw – PDF (Yaw)
11. Chin Defence Force – CDF (Asho)
12. Chin Defence Force – CDF Hakha
13. Chin Defence Force – CDF Zanniatram
14. Chin Defence Force – CDF Matupi

For close to a month now, the relentless attacks have not subsided. This reign of terror on innocent Zomi civilians in the name of attacking SAC bases in Zomi inhabited areas of Northern Chin State has led to the internal displacement of more than 5000 persons, scores injured and close to a dozen casualties.

More than 28 villages have been severely affected, many houses in ruins, and most villagers including children, women and the elderly had to abandon their homes for survival.

With the use of drone warfare targeting civilian areas of fellow Zo ethnic community, CNF/CNA is in a desperate attempt to capture political and economic monopoly in Chin State.

Using the recently instituted Chinland Council as a shield, the CNF/CNA is unleashing a blatant, violent campaign to advance its majoritarian politics and assimilation policy in the Chin State, where the ZRA Eastern Command pose a serious challenge to its ideological and ground power. It is interesting to note that CNA remains non-violent to groups such CNO and CDF-Mindat, who, too, have not joined the Chinland Council spearheaded by CNF/CNA.

The selective attacks on Zomi villages, on Zomi population by CNA and its cohorts is a direct and clear attempt to subjugate the Zomi people of Northern Chin State. The objective to deciminate ZRA Eastern Command violates all conventions and norms, and amounts to a complete disregard for operational command area of another resistance group.

ချင်းအမျိုးသားတပ်ဦး၏ လက်နက်ကိုင်အဖွဲ့ဖြစ်သည့် ချင်းအမျိုးသားတပ်မတော် (CNA) မှ ချင်းအမျိုးသားတပ်မ တော် (CNA) မှ တပ်စု ၁၄ ဖွဲ့နှင့်အတူ ၎င်းတို့၏ ချင်းမျိုးနွယ်စု ဇိုမီးလူမျိုးများ နေထိုင်ရာ တွန်းဇံနှင့် ကျီခါး ဒေသများကို ထိုးစစ်ဆင်ခဲ့သည်။

အကြမ်းဖက်နှိမ်နှင်းရေး လှုပ်ရှားမှုတွင် အောက်ပါအဖွဲ့များမှ အဖွဲ့ဝင်များ ပါဝင်သည်-

ယခုဆိုလျှင် တစ်လနီးပါးကြာအောင် မဆုတ်မနစ်သော တိုက်ခိုက်မှုများ မရပ်တန့်သေးပါ။ ချင်းပြည်နယ်မြောက်ပိုင်းရှိ ဇိုမီးလူမျိုးများနေထိုင်ရာ ဒေသများတွင် SAC အခြေစိုက်စခန်းများကို တိုက်ခိုက်ခြင်းကြောင့် အပြစ်မဲ့ ဇိုမီးပြည်သူများအပေါ် အကြမ်းဖက် တိုက်ခိုက်မှုကြောင့် လူပေါင်း ၅၀၀၀ ကျော် အိုးမဲ့အိမ်မဲ့ ဖြစ်ခဲ့ရကာ ဒဏ်ရာရသူ တစ်ဒါဇင်နီးပါး ရှိခဲ့သည်။

ရွာပေါင်း ၂၈ ရွာထက်မနည်း ဆိုးရွားစွာ ထိခိုက်ပျက်စီးခဲ့ပြီး နေအိမ်အများအပြား ပျက်စီးကာ ကလေးငယ်များ၊ အမျိုးသမီးများနှင့် သက်ကြီးရွယ်အိုများ အပါအဝင် ရွာသားအများစုသည် အသက်ရှင်သန်ရေးအတွက် ၎င်းတို့၏ နေအိမ်များကို စွန့်ခွာခဲ့ရသည်။

ဇိုတိုင်းရင်းသားအသိုက်အဝန်း၏ အရပ်ဘက်ဒေသများကို ပစ်မှတ်ထားတိုက်ခိုက်သည့် ဒရုန်းများကို အသုံးပြု၍ CNF/CNA သည် ချင်းပြည်နယ်အတွင်း နိုင်ငံရေးနှင့် စီးပွားရေး လက်ဝါးကြီးအုပ်မှုကို သိမ်းပိုက်ရန် အပူတပြင်း ကြိုးပမ်းလျက်ရှိသည်။

မကြာသေးမီက ဖွဲ့စည်းထားသော Chinland Council ကို အကာအရံအဖြစ် အသုံးပြု၍ CNF/CNA သည် ၎င်း၏ အဓိကနိုင်ငံရေးနှင့် ပေါင်းစည်းရေးမူဝါဒကို မြှင့်တင်ရန်အတွက် ZRA အရှေ့ပိုင်းတိုင်း စစ်ဌာနချုပ်၏ အတွေးအခေါ်နှင့် မြေပြင်အာဏာအတွက် ပြင်းထန်သော စိန်ခေါ်မှုတစ်ရပ်အဖြစ် ချင်းပြည်နယ်တွင် ဗြောင်ကျကျ ကြမ်းတမ်းသော လှုပ်ရှားမှုကို ထုတ်ဖော်နေပါသည်။ CNA သည် CNO နှင့် CDF-Mindat တို့လည်း CNF/CNA ဦးဆောင်သော Chinland Council တွင် မပါဝင်သေးသည့် အဖွဲ့များအတွက် အကြမ်းမဖက်ဘဲ ရှိနေသည်ကို သတိပြုရန်မှာ စိတ်ဝင်စားစရာ ကောင်းပါသည်။

CNA နှင့် ဇိုမီးအုပ်စုများမှ ဇိုမီးကျေးရွာများကို ရွေးချယ်တိုက်ခိုက်ခြင်းသည် ချင်းပြည်နယ်မြောက်ပိုင်းရှိ ဇိုမီးလူမျိုးများကို ချေမှုန်းရန် တိုက်ရိုက်ရှင်းလင်းသော ကြိုးပမ်းမှုဖြစ်သည်။ ZRA အရှေ့ပိုင်းတိုင်း စစ်ဌာနချုပ်ကို အဆုံးအဖြတ်ပေးရန် ရည်ရွယ်ချက်မှာ စည်းမျဥ်းများနှင့် စံနှုန်းများအားလုံးကို ချိုးဖောက်ပြီး အခြားတော်လှန်ရေးအဖွဲ့၏ စစ်ဆင်ရေးကွပ်ကဲမှုနယ်မြေအတွက် လုံးဝဂရုမစိုက်မှုဖြစ်သည်။
